On two separate occasions based on memory, I’ve deemed “Scarecrow” to be more superior than “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest”, thus why I haven’t pardoned the latter from the Movie-Ocrity/Dishonorable Mention page. But after Dalip Singh’s character in the remake of “The Longest Yard” reminded me of the late Will Sampson’s character in the latter of the two 1970s movies, I decided to pardon the 1975 movie to re-assess it, although Chief is way too iconic to not be a part of Flickuum lore, thus it will be in The Project no matter what.
Despite “Twister” being the 1,041st completed evaluation, I can only take Helen Hunt in small doses, due to her being so insufferable on that damn show that she did with Paul Reiser. But she’s a breath of fresh air in the volleyball movie “The Miracle Season”, which is based on a true story. So, given that, along with A) Erin Moriarty needing something more positive chronologically after “Blood Father” and B) The Helen Hunt-led movie showing that it has line-up versatility, the 2018 movie has been awarded the 99th spot in the 2,101 through 2,200 selection protocol.
I’m all for comedic actors stepping out of their comfort zone to try something drastically different, i.e. Adam Sandler in the movie “Uncut Gems”. However, the same can’t be said for the movie “Becky”, as Kevin James seems out of place as the leader of a crew of home invaders, thus I have decided to place it on the Movies That Mega Tat Refuses To See page, despite the titular character going John Wick on the aforementioned home invaders during the movie’s climax.
And finally, no one epitomizes the category of dynamic talent in subpar movies more than Zulay Henao, as the Colombian-American actress has appeared in nine such movies. But luckily, she will get a third Flickuum movie via “Beyond White Space”, as A) The monster designs are awesome, B) I like the desolate vibe that it gives off, C) I like the other eye candy actresses in the movie, D) It has a pay-off that is similar to the Johnny Depp movie “The Professor” and E) It can work well in an evaluation line-up with both “The Iron Claw” and “Love Lies Bleeding”. So, given all five of those points, it will be the movie that officially closes out the 2,101 through 2,200 selection protocol.
Well, now it’s time to find 31 more Flickuum worthy movies for spots 2,201 through 2,231, so that the graduating to Tier 5 can finally resume.
Until the next time.
