I did say that “Love Spreads” would be my final post-June 25 pardon from the Movie-Ocrity/Dishonorable Mention page. But after feeling that “Spy” could be neck-and-neck with an enshrined movie in “Get Him To The Greek”, I have pardoned the second of the three movies and subsequently placed it in the 2,101 through 2,301 selection protocol. Now it’s a matter of which conference to place that movie in since it’s intriguing to think of a movie that has both Melissa McCarthy and Rose Byrne competing against movies that have Nadine Velazquez, Melissa Barrera, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, Marisa Abela, Eiza Gonzalez, Anna Camp and/or Minka Kelly.
During the boredom that was assessing the Liam Neeson movie “Memory”, I was surfing the Apple movies app on my phone to see if I could find something new to add to the assessment/re-assessment roster since I’m always looking for Project-worthy movies. And sure enough, I found such a movie in “Reunion”, which is a 2020s version of “Searching For Sonny” a.k.a. the 300th Flickuum evaluation. And given that that movie has another Flickuum favorite in Nina Dobrev, I have decided to add it to the assessment/re-assessment roster.
Britt Robertson’s pending evaluation total is currently down to four, as all that currently remains for her is “The First Time”, “Tomorrowland”, “Delivery Man” and “The Longest Ride”. But that might not be it for Britt, as I have decided to add “The Re-Education Of Molly Singer” to the assessment/re-assessment roster, as it could be a good counterbalance to anything that has Nadine Velazquez, Melissa Barrera, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, Anna Camp, Minka Kelly and/or Alexandra Daddario.
After re-assessing “Firebrand” two days ago, I came to the realization that “A Royal Affair” could very well be neck-and-neck with it, as both movies are Alicia Vikander movies that take place in royalty time periods. So, with that being said, I have decided to make it the second final post-June 25 pardon from the Movie-Ocrity/Dishonorable Mention page, but as a movie that will be re-assessed.
Given that I don’t like supporting movies that focus on people with questionable character to say the least, I was going to add the made-for-cable movie “Confirmation” to the Movies That Mega Tat Refuses To See page. But after realizing that I’m getting “Bombshell” vibes from it, I have decided to take a flier on that movie. Besides, it could be a perfect movie to bring down Zoe Lister-Jones’ all-time Flickuum ranking average since she shouldn’t have such an average higher than the actresses that are much more dynamic than her. However, that page will get a different movie, with it being the 1990 version of “Lord Of The Flies” because I don’t like the book, so why the hell would I see that movie?
And finally, this is the last ever time that a movie will be pardoned from the Movie-Ocrity/Dishonorable Mention, as real-life events that pertain to the cleanliness of our planet are almost impossible to shun. And as to what that movie is, well it’s “Deepwater Horizon”. And just like “A Royal Affair”, it will be re-assessed.
Well, the minimum of 131 movies for the 2,101 through 2,301 selection protocol is 14 movies away from completion, but will be methodically built up, as my focus will be getting 25 to 30 percent of the 12th increment of 100 for The Flickuum Project completed this month. Plus, devoting focus to that for the majority of this month will give me some much-needed rest after I put myself through 86 Flickuum evaluations in 39 days.
Until the next time.
